Internally displaced persons count for Turkey’s image

It is hard to estimate an accurate figure for internally displaced persons in Turkey. The figure released by the Turkish government is around 350,000, while nongovernmental organizations have been talking about an estimated figure varying from 1 million to up to 4 million.

The government displayed its willingness last year to devise a new strategy to resolve the issue and requested assistance from the United Nations, the European Union and the World Bank.
