Belgian Parliament rejects bid to outlaw denial of Armenian genocide

The Belgian Senate has stopped the passage of a bill which would have punished people denying the so-called Armenian genocide. The bill was returned to the Federal Parliament. The bill, which would have meant jail sentences or monetary fines for people denying the Armenian claims, had been proposed by the Valon Liberal Party "Reform Movement," and the Valon Green Party.
