PKK kidnaps mayor in Southeast

Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists kidnapped a small-town mayor from Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), relatives and officials from the mayor's office said on Thursday.

The terrorists stopped Hasım Akyürek, mayor of Yayladere, population 5,000, in Bingöl province, on Wednesday afternoon just outside the town, abducting him and a man traveling with him, said Bilge Eren, an official from the mayor's office.
