Turkey to relaunch military satellite program

The Turkish military and the respective officials have set in motion a program that will give the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) remote-sensing capabilities through electro-optical military satellite. A reshuffle in the top ranks is planned in late August, 2005, as Air Force Commander Gen. Ibrahim Firtina retires, with War Academy Air Force Gen. Faruk Comert being touted as the most likely replacement. The program which was delayed for four-years will be revived – under the new commander-in-chief, and will become a main focus of the military intelligence.
