Turkish publisher warns illegal Potter translators

Ankara: The Turkish publisher of the Harry Potter series of books has threatened legal action against those involved in unofficial translations of the latest book in the series.

There were reports that unofficial Turkish translations of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" were posted on the internet.

Yapi Kredi Publications placed advertisements in Turkish newspapers Thursday pointing out that such translations are illegal and that they will take necessary measures to stop websites from carrying them.

While the worldwide launch of the English edition has created an excitement in Turkey, children will have to wait till October before Yapi Kredi Publications launches the Turkish version
