The World Bank has published a book that covers Turkey's efforts to make its laws and society compatible with European standards.
The book is entitled, "Turkey: Economic Reform and Accession to the European Union," and was edited by Bernard M. Hoekman and Subidey Togan.
The editors pose two key questions: What requirements must Turkey, the largest country among the candidate and accession countries, meet to join the European Union? What progress has been made toward meeting them?
