Cold weather continues to paralyze Turkey

Van officials say that 684 villages are cut off due to blocked roads

Cold weather and heavy snowfall, which is affecting all of Turkey, is paralyzing daily life. There are 736 village roads that are blocked in Van, Hakkari, Agri, Samsun and Ordu.

Local officials in the eastern city of Van said that 363 villages in Agri, 227 villages in Van, and 94 villages in Hakkari are unreachable due to blocked roads.

Because less snow fell on Monday, officials were able to start clearing the village roads. Officials stated that if no more snow falls over the next three days that they would be able to open the blocked village roads.
