President says election threshold should be lowered

President Sezer said that the improvement in economy should be reflected to the people.

ANKARA - Turkey’s 10 percent electoral threshold should be lowered, the country’ president said Tuesday.

Speaking at the Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen Association (TUSAID) council meeting President Ahmet Necdet Sezer said that a reduction of a t few percent should be fine but that a sharp decrease could pose problems in setting up a government.
