While additional protocol is being written up in Ankara with reference to why Turkey does not allow Greek Cypriot planes or ships to use its air or sea space, last Thursday morning, a small Israeli plane was the first craft to unofficially break this embargo. The plane lifted off from Nicosia on the Greek side, and announcing over its radio that it had "come in from Rhodes," it then proceeded to land at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.
