The second item of Bryza's discussions in Ankara is more interesting: understanding the operation of Turkey 's Religious Directorate as an example for preventing the alienation of Muslims from society in European countries. 'We need a partner in the Muslim world,' says Bryza, adding that the US wants to cooperate with the directorate to spread 'tolerant faith' and 'scientific learning' in Islam.
