Newsweek: Turkey doesn't need EU, it has Istanbul

"Cool Istanbul" is featured on the cover of the current issue of Newsweek International, where authors Owen Matthews and Rana Foroohar say that after so many decades of trying to become Western, Istanbul is glorying in the rediscovery of a very modern identity. "European or not, it's one of the coolest cities in the world," they write.
