Following the latest two increases at the pump, a liter of gas in Turkey is now past 2 dollars, which puts Turkey in first place in the world in terms of the price of filling up a car tank. Prices began creeping up through July and August, with the cost of one liter of gas going from $1.97 at the end of July, to $2.01 at the end of August, and then, with the latest increase on September 10, resting at $2.09 per liter.
