Parliaments to cooperate on human rights

Parliamentary Human Rights Commission Chairman Mehmet Elkatmış said on Thursday that they would be assisted by the European Parliament Human Rights Sub-commission in their efforts on human rights and the rule of law.

Speaking after meeting with Hélène Flautre, the head of a delegation from the sub-commission, Elkatmış said he was very happy to welcome the group, noting that such meetings would help improve bilateral dialogue.

Flautre said they had come to Turkey to learn how they could help in the commission's efforts concerning democracy and human rights.
