An organization formed by western Thracian Turkish women living in Greece has been forcibly shut down by the Greek federal Court of Appeals. The "Rhodopian Turkish Women's Culture Foundation" was closed down on account of the word "Turkish" found in its title, according to Greek and Turkish sources. Women from the foundation have brought their case to the attention of the European Court of Human Rights, claiming that their rights are being trampled by non other than an EU country.
