DURUSU METERING STATION, Turkey -- Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Turkey Thursday to help inaugurate a US$3.2 billion gas pipeline project, a symbol of the growing economic clout that has made Moscow Turkey's second-largest trading partner.
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was also in Turkey to attend the ceremony. Italy's Eni SpA was a key partner in the construction of the natural gas pipeline.
