At celebrations yesterday for the 22nd anniversary of the foundation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat said its existence is not an obstacle to the reunification of the island.
The celebrations began at Dr. Fazil Kucuk Bulvar and continued with an aerial display by the Turkish Air Force of "Turkish Stars" in Girne.
"We know well that the Turkish Republic, which we're bound to through historical ties, will never disappoint us," Talat said.
