Cyprus: "Law" change in north signifies more political meaning

NICOSIA, Dec. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Cypriot Foreign Ministry's Permanent Secretary Sotos Zackheos said here on Tuesday that a "law" change on Greek Cypriot properties, which was approved by the "parliament" in northern Cyprus, is a political rather than legal action.

Zackheos said the change does not envisage the restoration of properties to their legal owners but safeguards the bizonality of a future Cyprus settlement and gives Turkey time credit as regards Greek Cypriot appeals in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR)and its European obligations.
