A man was wounded when a makeshift bomb went off near a police station in the western Turkish city ofIzmir on Saturday, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.
The bomb, planted in a wheelbarrow, detonated near a police station in the Kurds-dominated Konak district of Izmir, Turkey's third largest city, according to the report.
A 54-year-old man was wounded in the blast, which also smashed windows of nearby buildings and damaged some vehicles, Anatolia said, adding that the police suspected the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) might be behind the explosion.
